OK – I was on my way to meet my daughter and her father for dinner when I realized that I had left my makeup bag in my work van. I had 5 minutes to be there for 5:30 reservations, BUT I was not about to go to dinner without my makeup on!!! I mean come on – there could be small children there!!! LOL!!! So, I made a quick stop at a drugstore, that shall remain nameless! I quickly entered the drugstore and proceeded to the makeup section and quickly made my selections. I was in a hurry so I did not have a cart nor a basket. I grabbed concealer, (The stuff that is supposed to conceal your flaws….HAH!….) then I grabbed foundation, lip gloss, mascara, eye shadow and blush. I power walked to the register, only to be told by the man behind the counter that he had just closed his register and I needed to proceed to the register at the photo center!!! GREAT! At the register there was a family with 20+ items – like – come on – you do not buy 20+ items at a drug store….HELLO PEOPLE!!! GO TO THE COTTON PICKIN WALMART!!!!!! SAVE MONEY AND FREE UP THE REGISTERS FOR INSECURE WOMEN THAT NEED THEIR MAKEUP PRONTO!!!!!! (Exhaling – done with that rant for now!) Anyways, after I waited for the charmin, bottled water, etc…etc… to be rang up, I put my makeup on the counter. The not so friendly clerk, who seemed like she was majorly put out that she be made to ring up anyone BUT a photo customer, rang up my makeup with huffs and puffs and interspersing outbursts over the loud speaker, demanding someone else come up and work a register! Ha ha….She growled the total of thirty something dollars to me(which seemed steep – but then again convenience is not usually cheap!) and I paid with my debit card and left. I got into my car and went to grab the keys out of my left hand to start the car…..I was running late you know……and there in my hand with the keys……was the lip gloss!!!!!! GREAT! Now what do I do – I am running late – and the lady at the counter might have a brain hemorrhage should I go back in with another item for her(the PHOTO SPECIALIST not JUST A CASHIER) to ring up. So, I decided……….I went on to dinner, (and it was very good I must say, a Japanese Steak House Birthday Dinner for me! mmm mmm) and tomorrow, I will take the lip gloss back and pay for it this time! Maybe the PHOTO SPECIALIST lady will not be there!!!!! One can only hope!!!!!

Yep – I did it…….or at least I was told I did it. I was performing a diagnostic Ultrasound on an elderly gentleman this evening, and as I was compressing his vein in his leg……he said…..%@## %#$!!!! Then he proceeded to tell me how I had done gone and made him curse….. and to please not make him curse again…..hmmm…..lets just say………I learned some new curse words before I had completed his exam. I try to be gentle….but I MUST compress the vein to ensure there is no blood clot….mus’nt I? But of course I must! Then I told him….the Debil made him do it!!! Not me!!! (well – I really did not tell him that….but…I really wanted too!) I don’t think he liked me very much……hmmmm…wonder if he misses me????? I would think he does not! Humph!!!

Hi – My name is Auntie Sallie….. and I love to be called Auntie. I first came up with the idea of being called Auntie rather than just plain Aunt many, many years ago. Auntie just has such a nice ring to it….don’t you think??? I am so glad that I was clever enough to come up with it all on my own. Woo hooooo!!! Auntie…Auntie…Auntie….yep……that’s me……….mmm hmm…..

Tonight I am very, very sad…… Today, my local Best Friend Teddy moved back to New York to pursue his acting carreer, and I already miss him tremendously!!! However, I am reminded by this time of sadness and loneliness, to look to God for my comfort. Also, having lived 43 years, I know that one chapter ends and a new one begins! So, with this thought, I think I will do some major introspection and evaluation of my life and how I live it. I will insert changes where needed and appreciate those things that do not need changing. Who knows….maybe I will pursue old dreams that have gotten dusty and buried with time and well………life. I know with certainty, I will be stronger in my faith in God, a more compassionate person, and much more greatful for what I do have!!! All of this comes through the trials and disappointments of life. I am actually greatful for them….believe it or not….because it is only through enduring trying times that I can truly appreciate Gods gifts in my life. God be with you all!!! Sallie
